We like to believe that we are on these people who can do this. I guess based on the burst of applause from the audience and the endless thank yous of the couple, we did a splendid SDE.

I have seen the same thing last year but during that time we decided to go before dusk to see what they call the “Nightglow” which is lighting and firing the air balloons at night.

From both experience, I conclude that I will never even do this thing again unless organizers improve the event handling.

Here are just some of my personal complaints:

1.  Main entrance to the main site is just one freaking gate which leads to pushing and shoving.   This is one big disaster just waiting to happen.  If a stampede happens here then I am sure there will be many casualties.   I really don’t know why they cannot put another gate or expand the existing gate since they are charging Php200 anyways per person.   And there are thousands visiting the event everyday especially the last day.   Just put more people to man the entrance to control the crowd.   This way they control the line and the waiting time.

2.  If you love traffic and waiting then this is the best place to go.  Imagine as early as 5pm traffic is already reaching the SM Clark area.  Snailpace movement because of a single entry parking event entrance.

3.  If you love dust and wants a good car cleaning after, this is the place to go.  The parking area is one huge dusty area.  Leave your black painted car here and in just a few hours it will turn to brown.

4.  Use SMART or SUN.  I don’t know what is wrong with Globe during this time but gosh I already sent more than 20 messages and nothing has been received.  Worst, phone calls were not getting thru as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I love this event but I will definitely not wake up very early in the morning and sacrifice my weekend just to experience this hassle.   The organizers have been doing this for the past 17 years…. they would have perfected this event by now.   The irritations I mentioned above are just simple organization items that can be remedied especially with the income they are generating from the entrance fee and the  sponsorships.

Next year, you might want to go earlier and not on the last day.  But come to think of it that is really not solving the problem.  Organizers please do something with these before any accident happens.   So many people love this event.so I believe it is just high time for a much needed improvement.

A better air balloon fiesta on the 18th year and beyond…… pleazzzze.

Today is the planned portraiture shoot with models coming from HRD, Mayphil and Corporate Affairs, Mina.  Both are stunning and the members of the club for sure will have a grand time in photographing both.

I stood as one of the mentors and taught them some tips on taking some flattering portraits.

Here are some of my own shots.

Live, Laugh, Love… True to the words they used to describe their wedding. Despite the threat of Typhoon Mina the couple and the guests’ spirits were not dampened despite the rain. This is one of the most enjoyable weddings we have covered. The emcee, Meg’s friend was so hilarious that the audience cannot stop laughing their heads off. Till the end of the event almost of their closest friends were stil there exchanging endless laughs and stories.

It’s our first time in Marriot, Resorts World and first time in Ellinwood Church and both places are amazing. Then you have the combination of Titus and Meg who love photography so much they decided to focus on it. They have strict instructions to do candid and photojournalistic shots. They want the dramatic and to capture their moment. With this instructions, we will never fail them.

Nakiramay ang milyong-milyong Pilipino kay Ninoy.   Isang Pilipino, na hindi natakot iharap ang sarili para labanan ang isang diktadurang nagpahirap sa mga nakakarami.   Hindi niya kailangang bumalik sa Pilipinas at maaari naman siyang manahimik ng kanyang pamilya sa Boston.   Pero may mga ilang Pilipino na mas matimbang ang pagmamahal sa bansa.   Hindi matitiis na makita ang paghihirap ng nakakarami at manatili lamang na walang imik.   Kailangang magsalita laban sa mga nang-aapi upang maituwid ang daang baluktot.

Marami ang nagising noong panahong yoon.  Ang mga Pilipino ay nag-ingay upang marininig ng mga nagbibingi-bingihan.  Sa isang iglap ang nahimbing na sambayanan ay namulat.  Hinding, hindi na pa-aapi.   Hindi na matatakot.  Hindi na paloloko.

Si Ninoy, bumalik na mag-isa.  Nangarap na makita ang kanyang kababayan na malaya sa isang diktadura at masaya sa isang demokrasyang bansa.   Sa buhay niyang inalay tayo ay nagkaisa para makamit ang kalayaan na matagal na inaasam.   Namulat na sa pagkakaisa ng nakakarami ang minimithing kalayaan ay matatagumpayan.

Maraming taon na ang nakalipas.   Huwag tayong makakalimot.   Ipa-alala sa ating mga sarili na hindi tayo nag-iisa.

Tayo ay mga Pilipino.  Sama-samang nating alalahanin ang kabayanihan ni Ninoy at maging inspirasyon sa tuloy-tuloy na makabulahang pagbabago.
